Sonnet III

There are so many things; I wish to let you know;
As many as the stars that decorate the sky;
But when I’m near you, my love becomes my foe;
And blinded by your shine, my words turn dry;
Laying in your protective hold, I finally feel complete;
And yet, fulfilling blankness rules my blessed soul;
But as I struggle to break this curse, you hastily retreat;
Again I lie alone, reaching for the shadow of a ghoul;
My friend is patience, my lover deprivation;
The world is poison in my blood, salt into my gashes;
And when I’m parted from my love, my thoughts are desperation;
A rain, of burning tears, invades my dark eyelashes;
For secret affection, eternally will be blackened by desire;
For as long as I wait for thee, my heart will be on fire;
